How to Become a Member

Membership

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must believe in God.
  • Must be of good character and not affiliated with any subversive organizations.

Get Sponsored by a Current Member

You need a current Elk member in good standing to sponsor your application. If you don’t know any members, attending events is a great way to meet one who might be willing to sponsor you.

Submit an Application

Once you have a sponsor:

  • Fill out a membership application form.
  • Pay the required application fee.

Initiation

If approved, you’ll be invited to an initiation ceremony. After initiation, you become an official member of the Elks!
